Eastshore Alliance FC's Taylor Kelso Commits to UC Santa Cruz

Eastshore Alliance FC is proud to announce that goalkeeper Taylor Kelso has committed to continue her academic and athletic career at UC Santa Cruz, marking an exciting milestone in her soccer journey.

Taylor began playing soccer at the age of six and joined Eastshore Alliance FC in 2023. While she did not initially envision herself as a goalkeeper, her path changed when EAFC coach Sam recognized her potential and encouraged her to explore the position.

"Coach Sam introduced me to the idea that I could be a goalkeeper," said Kelso. "She helped train me at the beginning to see if I liked it. I fell in love with the position and stuck with it ever since."

Since embracing the role, Taylor has developed into a dedicated and reliable goalkeeper, demonstrating the work ethic, resilience, and leadership that have become hallmarks of her game.

As she prepares for the next chapter of her career, Taylor reflects on the relationships she has built during her time at Eastshore Alliance FC.

"What I'll miss most about EAFC is the people, my teammates and the relationships I've built along the way," she said.

Taylor's commitment represents the culmination of years of hard work, dedication, and perseverance. Her success serves as an inspiration to younger players throughout the EAFC community.

When asked what advice she would offer aspiring college soccer players, Taylor emphasized the importance of patience and keeping an open mind throughout the recruiting process.

"Some advice I would give to players wanting to play in college is to not narrow your efforts too quickly. Keep a wide range of schools you're talking to in terms of location and opportunities, and let the process narrow itself down as you go. Don't stress about what other people are doing. It's your journey, and what's meant for you will find you."
