Eastshore Alliance FC Boys Program Accepted into MLS Next Beginning 2026-27 Season
Eastshore Alliance FC is proud to announce that the club’s Boys Competitive Program has been accepted into MLS NEXT beginning with the 2026–27 season, marking a major milestone in the continued growth of the club and its player development pathway.
MLS NEXT, the elite youth development platform created by Major League Soccer, represents the highest level of youth soccer competition in North America. The league features many of the top academies in the country and provides players with a high-performance environment designed to prepare them for the next levels of the game.
For Eastshore Alliance FC, acceptance into MLS NEXT reflects years of dedication from players, coaches, staff, and families who have helped build a culture centered on development, integrity, and community.
Director of Coaching, Niall Irwin, emphasized both the significance of the moment and the responsibility that comes with it:
“Being accepted into MLS Next is an exciting moment for our club and a reflection of the dedication our players, coaches, and families show every day. I want to thank our entire community for their commitment to improving and raising standards across the club.
At the same time, this milestone is where the work begins again. As we enter MLS NEXT, we will continue refining our environment and building the structures needed to support our Performance and Competitive stage teams so they can grow, improve, and compete at the highest level.”
The addition of MLS NEXT strengthens Eastshore Alliance FC’s long-term vision of building a complete development pathway for players across the club.
Executive Director, Matt Fitchett, reflected on how the announcement represents a key step forward in that vision:
“With the creation of Eastshore Alliance FC, we began an exciting new chapter built on ambition, opportunity, and a shared vision for the future of our players.
From the very beginning, our goal has been clear: to create a stronger and more complete development pathway for every athlete who wears our badge. Today, we are proud to take a significant step forward by introducing MLS NEXT for our boys’ teams alongside ECNL Regional League for our girls’ teams. These elite platforms will provide our players with greater opportunities to compete, grow, and pursue the highest levels of the game.”
MLS NEXT was launched in 2020 and has quickly become the premier youth development platform in the United States and Canada. The league emphasizes elite competition, coaching development, and pathways into professional, collegiate, and national team environments.
For EAFC players, the move into MLS NEXT will provide opportunities to:
Compete regularly against top academies across the region and country
Train and develop in a high-performance environment
Gain increased exposure to collegiate and professional pathways
Continue growing within a club committed to long-term player development
Fitchett also noted that while this announcement marks a major achievement, it represents just the beginning of the next phase for the club.
“At Eastshore Alliance FC, we believe every player deserves the chance to chase their potential and strive for excellence. The creation of these pathways is the result of countless hours of work behind the scenes by dedicated staff, coaches, and leaders who are committed to building something truly special for our players and families.
This moment represents an important milestone, but it is only the beginning. Our commitment remains unwavering to continue building the best possible environment, platforms, and opportunities so that every EAFC player can develop, compete, and dream bigger.”
Eastshore Alliance FC looks forward to beginning competition in MLS NEXT in the 2026-27 season and continuing to build an environment where players can thrive both on and off the field.
Additional details regarding team structure, age groups, and competition schedules will be shared as the 2026-27 season appaoraches.
