The Almaden Labor Day Classic tournament witnessed an impressive display of soccer talent as several Eastshore Alliance FC teams took to the field to compete in a thrilling series of matches over the weekend. With goals, excitement, and determination on full display, the teams showcased their skills and sportsmanship throughout the event.

2008G Navy: The tournament kicked off on a high note for the 2008G Navy team, securing a solid 2-1 victory. Their style of play focused on creating central chances and utilizing 1v1s and combination plays to penetrate the opposition's defense. Defensively, they were organized in preventing the opponent's buildup, keeping the ball on one side, and pressing as a cohesive unit. The team continued their winning streak with another hard-fought 2-1 victory, this time against a physically challenging Granite Bay team. Despite the tough conditions of thick grass and tired legs, the team showcased their determination. The team advanced to the championship game and won in penalty kicks, with goalkeeper Adayah making a stellar save.

2010G Orange: The girls of the 2010G Orange team opened the tournament with a bang, defeating their opponents 3-1. They demonstrated excellent awareness of space in wide areas and displayed the ability to change the point of attack effectively. Despite conceding a penalty kick due to a defensive error, they showed resilience and clinched the victory. The team faced a formidable opponent in the 2009/10G Eel River team, ultimately losing 3-1. The girls fought valiantly, with a 1-0 lead at halftime, but the opposition's high pressing and physicality proved challenging. Nevertheless, they made the bronze medal match, playing for third place which was the team’s goal for the tournament. Coming into the game, the girls were playing phenomenal and were showing that they were reaching another level of play, yet in this match the team played down to the opponent’s level, possibly struggling against a very physical opponent and tough officiating. The game ended 0-0 in regulation time and went into penalty kicks, and unfortunately the team couldn’t get the result this go around.

2012B Navy: The 2012B Navy team secured a convincing 2-0 win in their tournament opener, earning their first clean sheet. They dominated possession and created several goal-scoring opportunities. Their first goal came from high-pressure play, while the second was a well-executed header from a cross. The team needed to win their last game to advance to the final but lost 1-0. Although not able to advance this tournament, Coach Mason was pleased with his team’s performance and overall are taking a lot of positives away from this weekend.

2013B Navy: The 2013B Navy team faced tough competition, losing both games. Despite the scores, they remained competitive throughout the matches. Mistakes in the back in the late stages of the games proved to be their downfall.

2013B Orange: The 2013B Orange team displayed resilience, dominating their first game but narrowly losing 4-3. In their second game, they dug deep and secured a 3-2 victory.

2011B Orange: The 2011B Orange team had an outstanding start, winning their opener 6-0 against Newark 11B White. The team showcased great combinations and goal-scoring contributions from multiple players. Despite a 3-1 loss in their second match, they remained optimistic about their chances in the semi-finals.
